ICYMI – Andrew Bayer’s new album out NOW on Anjunabeats

August 27th, 2018

Rooted in club culture but always eager to expand, Andrew Bayer truly comes into his own on this record as an “album” artist. Embracing the breadth of a full length project, Bayer’s been able to couple underground sounds with a much larger, more rounded viewpoint. His new album In My Last Life drives the point home across eight heartfelt tracks, a lush, lucid affair with nuanced emotional counterpoints and emotional songs penned and delivered by Norwegian singer/songwriter Ane Brun and the incredible Alison May . An artistic statement and a perfectly considered body of work, In My Last Life owes very little to the dance floor that Andrew is often associated with, instead drawing its inspirations from influences like Kate Bush, Atoms For Peace, Aphex Twin and Talk Talk.

His new song ‘Open End Resource’ is a case in point, with Bayer’s production two-stepping alongside vocalist Alison May. Inspired by a camping trip and questions of identity, it’s a means of communicating hope, of embracing the positive changes within society. –READ MORE VIA CLASH MAGAZINE
