WATCH — matt Pond PA “Whoa”

December 11th, 2016

“An album inspired by [Matt Pond’s] upbringing in snowy New Hampshire, aptly named Winter Lives, contains songs fit to listen to curled up by the fire as well as those for romping through the snow. “Whoa” is a song for the latter—and the video will have you packing your bags for Iceland where it was filmed. The clip features Matt Pond and his right-hand man Chris Hansen exploring lavish landscapes and quirky cities, with cinematography that makes the music video feel like a 4-minute Icelandic documentary.” — via The Vinyl District

Wax Tailor’s North American tour launches January 17th in Philadelphia and will wind its way through the U.S. and Canada ending in Asheville on February 18th. By Any Beats Necessary, Wax Tailor’s fifth album, is out now! The title references the Malcolm X phrase “By Any Means Necessary”, which was in turn inspired by Sartre’s play “Dirty Hands”.

By Any Beats Necessary is packed with talent featuring Ghostface Killah from the Wu Tang Clan, R.A. The Rugged Man, A-F-R-O, Token, Tricky, Charlotte Savary, Lee Fields, Sara Genn, Mattic, Raashan Ahmad and newcomer Idil.

Wax Tailor is known for his searing live shows. Anyone who experienced his 2014 shows with an ENTIRE ORCHESTRA will attest to that. Wax Tailor always creates a feast for eyes as well as the ears so get ready for brand new video elements too! LISTEN — Coldcut “Only Heaven (Remixes)”

December 6th, 2016

“Following the release of the brilliant Only Heaven EP, their first material in over ten years, Ninja Tune founders Jon More and Matt Black (a.k.a. Coldcut) return with a remix package featuring reworks from scene heavy hitters Matthew Herbert and Special Request, with rising producer Cadenza rounding out the release. As you can expect from the names involved, the remixes are as inventive as the originals themselves; from Herbert’s quirky two-stepper to Special Request’s low-slung weapon and Cadenza’s breakbeat tool, the three mind-bending interpretations sync perfectly with Coldcut’s forward-thinking ethos.” — via XLR8R
