LISTEN — The Big Pink “Hightimes”

November 16th, 2015

“The Big Pink reemerged today with “Hightimes,” the band’s first new single in three years. This song quickly reestablishes the group’s love of cavernous beats and walls of fuzz, a hallmark of the first two Big Pink albums. On “Hightimes,” drums pound, guitars ring, and Mary Charteris’ sing-song backing vocals sneak pleasantly through the background. The Big Pink plans to workshop some of its new material in a live setting. The group will perform three weeks in a row at The Echo in Los Angeles starting November 16.” — via The Fader

WATCH — Allday on Sway In The Morning

November 15th, 2015

“This definitely qualifies as “by far the dopest thing that’s ever happened in my life”. Aussie rapper Allday made an appearance on premier hip-hop radio show Sway in the Morning over the weekend, alongside Queensbridge rapper Eny, recently and even got a chance to freestyle for the popular show. He obviously impressed Sway, though, with the host making a case for US rap fans to be more open-minded about Australian hip-hop.” — via Acclaim Mag

WATCH — Bones & Beeker “Samara”

November 13th, 2015

“Winter, shminter! Happy fun summer days are here again, dear reader! With the premiere of their new video for the track “Samara,” The Minneapolis-based duo Bones & Beeker are here to put a sunny, summery, and vaguely Stereolab-ish smile back on our faces as we plunge headlong into the disgusting, cold, dark shitfest that lies ahead with their adorable-as-balls marriage of “hip-hop-production sensibilities [and] classic, harmony-focused singer-songwriter musicianship.”” — via Tiny Mix Tapes
